Accounting conferences 2027: dates and verdicts by country

Nobody maintains a straight answer to “what accounting conferences are on next year”. Organisers call their own show unmissable, and aggregators pad listings with events cancelled years ago.

So here is 2027, country by country, with what is left of 2026 at the end of each section. It stays current on The Firm’s events calendar as organisers confirm details. Every date, venue and ticket figure below was checked against the organiser’s own site on 27 September 2026. Where something is unannounced, it says so, with the month it usually runs. The part organisers cannot write is the verdict: who each room is for, and who should skip it.

Accounting Business Expo is the one confirmed Australian date for 2027: Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 March at ICC Sydney, and free to walk in. It is the largest gathering in Australian practice and the default answer for anyone asking where to start. Plan around it, because the unofficial programme often beats the sessions; we mapped that in our guide to the side events worth knowing about in Sydney. Xerocon is the honest gap. Xero’s rotation has moved the event between regions since 2023 and the profession widely expects Australia’s turn in 2027, but Xero’s own events page lists no Australian edition, and there is no city, venue or date. Treat it as expected and not announced. We keep the Xerocon dates hub updated the day Xero says something.

CPA Congress suits mid-career CPAs wanting breadth across many topics fast. Skip it if you want depth in one, because variety is the format. The SMSF Association conference is the opposite: deeply technical, right for specialists and wasted on a generalist. The Tax Summit sits in the same bracket for tax. ACE, run by Accountants Daily, has said only that 2027 dates are to be announced.

For bookkeepers, The Bookkeeper Event is a genuinely good residential three days. Sessions, networking and accommodation sit on one site, so the corridor conversations carry on after the last session. The ICB Australian Bookkeepers Summit is built for established bookkeepers wanting compliance updates and a network in one trip; first-years should do ICB’s one-day roadshow instead and save the airfare. The IPA National Congress is a small-practice event where networking is the programme, and a poor use of a week for non-members. ENGAGE is the broadest US conference here, running specialist tracks under one roof, and the only one with 2027 tickets already on sale. Main conference passes are US$1,925 for AICPA members and US$2,425 for non-members, with US$300 off for anyone who registers by 31 December. It earns the trip if you need deep technical CPE in more than one discipline. Skip it as a one-topic attendee, because you pay for a festival and use a corner of it.

Scaling New Heights skews to bookkeepers and advisors in firms under ten people, so skip it once the room stops being your peer group. NATP Taxposium is a tax preparer’s event and should be judged only on its tax update. Sage Future is Sage’s conference for Sage Intacct customers and partners; if you do not run Intacct, it is not your week. Digital Accountancy Show USA is a first edition of the London show, aimed at partners and senior leaders, and the organiser says plainly it does not admit students. Our verdict is to wait for 2028: first editions sell an exhibitor list before they have a proven programme.

Intuit Connect and SuiteWorld have not announced 2027 yet. In 2026 they land in Las Vegas the same week and serve different stacks: SuiteWorld for mid-market finance teams and implementation partners on NetSuite, Intuit Connect for QuickBooks-centric firms. Go with whichever matches yours. Doing both because you are already in the city is how people come home with a lanyard collection and nothing else. Digital CPA is the thinking-firm event of the US calendar, for partners working out where the practice goes next. Skip it if you need technical hours: the content is strategic and the CPE is a by-product.

The UK is the only market with its free spring shows already fixed. FAB, run with AccountingWEB, is free and lands eight weeks before Accountex London, which is also free and remains the one UK show where you can see nearly every vendor in a day, with up to 16 CPD points on offer. Do one, not both: the exhibitor lists overlap heavily, so pick on geography. Accountex Summit Manchester is free for people working in accountancy, bookkeeping or finance, and for northern firms it is the easiest yes on this calendar. Skip it if you were at Accountex London in May.

The Digital Accountancy Show pitches at senior accountants and firm leaders, and says plainly it is not built for students. Take that at face value. The International Accounting Forum is a one-day senior forum closing with an awards dinner, which tells you who it is for. Xerocon London has been and gone for 2026, and our write-up of what actually mattered in the announcements is the short version. For bookkeepers, the ICB Bookkeepers Summit runs a virtual tier alongside the London day, worth taking seriously if travel is the blocker.

Still to come in 2026: the Digital Accountancy Show (7 and 8 October, ExCeL London), the ICAEW Annual Conference (16 October, InterContinental London The O2, £295 plus VAT for members and £425 plus VAT otherwise) and the ICB Bookkeepers Summit (16 November, QEII Centre, from £157 plus VAT, or £99 plus VAT online on 23 and 24 November).

The ticket is the smallest line in the budget. The real costs are the days out of the office, the travel either side, and the follow-up nobody schedules. A two-day conference in another city is four working days once you count the airport. If you cannot name what those four days buy, the answer is no, however good the speaker list looks.

Match the event to the person, not the firm. A partner, a practice manager and a first-year bookkeeper get value from three different rooms. Sending the partner to a technical update they will delegate, or a junior to a strategy summit about decisions they do not make, is the commonest way firms waste a conference budget.

Book the week the event is announced. Ticket tiers on the large events step up and never step back down, and hotel blocks go before tickets do. Then decide what the two days are for before you walk in: three sessions, two people to meet, and the follow-up time booked before you leave.

Several organisers advertise structured hours: Accountex London offers up to 16 CPD points, Accounting Business Expo has advertised 75 CPD hours across its programme, and our own summit issues certificates through AccrediWise. What those hours count for is a separate question, because recognition varies by body and jurisdiction. Check with yours before relying on a conference to fill your requirement. AICPA and CIMA ENGAGE 2027 runs 7 to 10 June 2027 at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, with a live online option. Main conference passes are US$1,925 for AICPA members and US$2,425 for non-members, and registering by 31 December takes US$300 off.

Which accounting conferences are free in 2027?

Accounting Business Expo in Sydney (17 and 18 March), FAB in Birmingham (10 and 11 March), Accountex London (12 and 13 May) and Accountex Summit Manchester (14 September, free for practitioners) all cost nothing to attend. Free is not cheap, though: the days out of the practice cost the same either way.

Is there a Xerocon in 2027?

Nothing is announced. Xerocon Australia is widely expected in 2027 under Xero’s rotation, but as at 27 September 2026 Xero has published no city, venue or dates, and nothing for London or the US either. We update the Xerocon hub the day that changes.

Which single conference should I pick if I can only do one?

Pick the one closest to home. Attendance quality falls away with travel fatigue, and follow-up actually happens when you slept in your own bed. If two are equally close, choose the one where you already know three people, because the return comes from conversations you can start without an introduction.

How far ahead should I book?

Sell-outs are rarer than step-ups. The cheapest ticket tier expires long before capacity does, and hotel blocks go before tickets. On the Las Vegas events the partner hotel deal is tied to holding a pass, so booking late costs you twice. Book in the week an event announces.
