Every accounting conference worth your time in 2026 and 2027
A running calendar of the accounting and bookkeeping conferences worth knowing about between September 2026 and the middle of 2027, every date and venue checked against the organiser, venue or professional body on 1 September 2026. Each entry carries a verdict on who the room is actually for, plus the parts organisers never publish: what the trip really costs, and when to book.

Nobody maintains a straight answer to "what accounting events are on". Organisers say their own show is unmissable, aggregators pad listings with events cancelled two years ago, and checking it yourself costs a morning.
So here is the calendar, September 2026 to mid 2027, kept running on The Firm's event listing as organisers confirm details. Every date, city and venue below was checked against the organiser's own site, the venue, or the professional body running it, on 1 September 2026. Where something is unannounced, it says so. The part organisers cannot write is the verdict: who each room is for, and who should skip it.

United States
Advisory Amplified runs six one-day US stops between 22 September and 9 October 2026, with general admission published at US$199 and a US$799 VIP tier. It suits a small firm owner who wants a working day among peers, and you are home the same night. Skip it if you want a product roadmap. We covered the format in our Advisory Amplified write-up.
SuiteWorld and Intuit Connect land in Las Vegas the same week and serve different stacks: SuiteWorld for mid-market finance teams and implementation partners on NetSuite, Intuit Connect for QuickBooks-centric firms. Go with whichever matches yours. Doing both because you are already in the city is how people come home with a lanyard collection and nothing else.
Digital CPA is the thinking-firm event of the US calendar, for partners working out where the practice goes next. Skip it if you need technical hours: the content is strategic and the CPE is a by-product.
ENGAGE is the broadest US conference here, running specialist tracks under one roof. It earns the trip if you need deep technical CPE in more than one discipline. Skip it as a one-topic attendee, because you pay for a festival and use a corner of it. Scaling New Heights skews to bookkeepers and advisors in firms under ten people, so skip it once the room stops being your peer group. Digital Accountancy Show USA is the wildcard, and our verdict is to wait for 2028: first editions sell an exhibitor list before they have a proven programme.
United Kingdom
Accountex Summit Manchester is free for people working in accountancy, bookkeeping or finance. For northern firms that is the easiest yes on this calendar. Skip it if you were at Accountex London in May, because the exhibitor list overlaps heavily.
The Digital Accountancy Show pitches at senior accountants and firm leaders, and says plainly it is not built for students. Take that at face value. Accountex London remains the one UK show where you can see nearly every vendor in a day. Xerocon London has been and gone this year, and our write-up of what actually mattered in the announcements is the short version.
For bookkeepers, the ICB Bookkeepers Summit publishes in-person tickets from £157 plus VAT, with an online edition on 23 and 24 November at £99 plus VAT. The virtual tier is worth taking seriously if travel is the blocker.
Australia and New Zealand
The Bookkeeper Event is a genuinely good three days. Sessions, networking and accommodation all sit on one site at Twin Waters, so the corridor conversations carry on long after the last session ends, and that residential format is what makes it work. Member tickets are published at A$1,375 and non-member at A$1,775. Go for all three days if you can, because the value builds across them.
The ICB Australian Bookkeepers Summit marks ICB's twentieth anniversary, with the LUCA Awards gala dinner on the Friday. It is built for established bookkeepers wanting compliance updates and an industry network in one trip. First-years should do ICB's one-day roadshow instead and save the airfare.
CPA Congress adds one-day events after Melbourne: Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on Thursday 29 October, and Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur on Thursday 5 November. It suits mid-career CPAs wanting breadth across many topics fast. Skip it if you want depth in one, because variety is the format.
The IPA National Congress is a small-practice event where networking is the programme, so go if you want three days with the same faces. It is a poor use of a week for non-members. CA ANZ's New Zealand Tax Conference is narrow and technical, right for tax specialists and wasted on a generalist.
Accounting Business Expo is the largest gathering in Australian practice and expo entry is free, the default answer for anyone asking where to start. Plan around it, because the unofficial programme often beats the sessions; we mapped that in our guide to the side events worth knowing about in Sydney.
Xerocon is the honest gap. Xero's rotation has moved the event between regions since 2023 and the profession widely expects Australia's turn in 2027, but we can find no Xero publication committing to that year, and there is no city, venue or date. Treat it as likely and unconfirmed. We keep the Xerocon dates hub updated the day Xero says something.
One you probably cannot attend
The World Congress of Accountants in Seoul is co-hosted by IFAC and the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants. IFAC's August 2025 announcement said 17 to 20 November and its current event page says 17 to 19, so work from the shorter dates. Before you get excited: IFAC states in-person participation is invitation only, with select sessions livestreamed. This is a standards summit for institutes, and no enthusiasm gets you a badge.
How to decide whether to go
The ticket is the smallest line in the budget. The real costs are the days out of the office, the travel either side, and the follow-up nobody schedules. A two-day conference in another city is four working days once you count the airport. If you cannot name what those four days buy, the answer is no, however good the speaker list looks.
Match the event to the person, not the firm. A partner, a practice manager and a first-year bookkeeper get value from three different rooms. Sending the partner to a technical update they will delegate, or a junior to a strategy summit about decisions they do not make, is the commonest way firms waste a conference budget.
Book the week the event is announced. Pricing on the large events steps up and never steps back down. SuiteWorld's published individual pass moved from US$2,195 to US$2,495 on 1 September 2026, and Digital CPA's early-bird window closes 30 September. Those are the organisers' own numbers, and they are the pattern across this calendar.
Decide what the two days are for before you walk in. Pick three sessions and two people to meet, and treat the rest as optional. Book the follow-up time before you leave, because a conference's value is created in the fortnight after it, and that fortnight is always full.
A note on CPD and CPE
Several organisers advertise structured hours: Advisory Amplified lists 5 CPE credits with general admission, Accounting Business Expo advertises 75 CPD hours, and Accountex Summit Manchester runs CPD-accredited seminars. What those hours count for is a separate question, because recognition varies by body and jurisdiction. Check with yours before relying on a conference to fill your requirement. This is general information about published event details and does not constitute regulatory advice.
Frequently asked questions
Which single conference should I pick if I can only do one?
Pick the one closest to home. Attendance quality falls away with travel fatigue, and follow-up actually happens when you slept in your own bed. If two are equally close, choose the one where you already know three people, because the return comes from conversations you can start without an introduction.
Are virtual tickets actually worth buying?
They deliver the content and almost none of the reason most people go. ICB's UK summit and CA ANZ's New Zealand Tax Conference both run credible online editions, and for a technical update delivered to camera you lose very little. What disappears is the corridor. Buy virtual when the material is the goal, and accept your network will not grow that day.
How far ahead do the big events sell out?
Sell-outs are rarer than price rises. The cheap tier expires long before capacity does, and hotel blocks go before tickets. On the Las Vegas events the partner hotel rate is tied to holding a pass, so booking late costs you twice.
When is Xero likely to announce the 2027 Xerocon dates?
History points to roughly six months out. Xero put Xerocon Brisbane 2025 on sale on 4 March 2025 for an event on 3 and 4 September, and its deepest early-bird discount of 40 per cent ran only until 11:59pm on the announcement day itself, dropping to 30 per cent until 30 April. If the Australian return follows that shape, expect news in the first half of 2027, and expect the best price to last hours.
What if an event moves, or I cannot go after booking?
Transfer and refund terms vary widely and sit in the registration terms where nobody reads them. Most large conferences let you send a colleague in your place more readily than they refund you, so check the name-change clause before the cancellation clause. Book refundable flights beyond six months out, and for a first-edition event like Austin, wait for the published programme.
