Xerocon: every date, ticket and honest verdict in one place
Xero tells you the logistics; we tell you what's actually worth your time. This page stays current — dates, tickets, verdicts and the playbook for doing Xerocon properly.
Updated 21 July 2026 — next update the day Xero announces Australia 2027.
What Xerocon actually is (and who it's for)
Xerocon is Xero's flagship conference for accountants and bookkeepers — a two-day event mixing product announcements, education sessions, an app-partner expo and a closing party that has earned it nicknames like "Coachella for accountants." It started as a small New Zealand gathering in 2010 and now rotates through major cities globally, typically drawing thousands of practitioners per event.
It is not a general small-business conference. If you run or work in a practice on Xero — or you're a bookkeeper building one — you're the audience. If you're a business owner who just uses Xero, most of the agenda isn't aimed at you.
Since 2023, Xerocon has run as a rotating global event rather than a fixed annual circuit: London and the US in 2024, Canada and Brisbane in 2025, London and Denver in 2026, and back to Australia in 2027. One region's turn comes around roughly every two years — which is exactly why this page exists. Miss a cycle and you're waiting a while.

Is Xerocon worth it? The honest verdict
The honest answer is "it depends on your firm," so here it is by firm type — the answer Xero's FAQ page will never give you.
Solo practitioner or bookkeeper
Go every second cycle — and go hard when it lands in your region.
Marginal on pure ROI, genuinely valuable for everything else. The ticket is the cheap part — it's the flights, accommodation and two days of unbillable time that sting when no one is covering your inbox. But if you work alone, Xerocon is two days a year where the industry comes to you: your app stack's humans are in one room, and the hallway conversations are worth more than most sessions.
Growing firm (roughly 3–20 staff)
Yes — and treat it as a working trip, not a reward.
This is Xerocon's sweet spot. You're big enough that one good idea — a pricing change, an app consolidation, a workflow fix — pays for the trip several times over, and small enough that the partners still make decisions on the spot. Send two people, split the agenda, compare notes each night.
Large practice
Worth it for a small senior contingent with a deliberate agenda.
You're not going for the keynote — your account manager already briefs you on the roadmap. You're going for talent visibility, partner-level networking and the side events where the actual deals happen. A waste as an all-staff jolly.
One honest caveat for everyone: the main-stage content is Xero telling you about Xero. Budget your expectations accordingly, and mine the practitioner sessions and the expo floor for the real takeaways.
How to do Xerocon properly
- 1
Book at announcement, not at deadline.
Early-bird pricing is real money — Denver's launch-window tickets went for US$390 against a US$650 standard, and the discount windows stepped down from there. When Australia 2027 opens, the first window will be the cheapest. Hotels near the venue also vanish fast.
- 2
Plan sessions before you land.
The agenda drops weeks out. Pick your must-sees, assign the rest across your team, and leave deliberate gaps — the best conversations happen between sessions, not in them.
- 3
Triage the expo.
A hundred-plus app stands is a trap if you browse. Walk in with two lists: apps you already pay for (go negotiate, ask what's shipping) and problems you're actually trying to solve (find the two or three candidates, book proper demos for after the event). Ignore everything else, take the merch.
- 4
Say yes to side events — selectively.
The dinners, breakfasts and app-partner parties around Xerocon are often better networking than the conference floor. Two good ones beat five average ones and a ruined day two.
- 5
Book the debrief before you leave.
A one-hour team meeting within a week of getting home, with a rule: every attendee brings one thing to implement this quarter. Otherwise it was a very expensive party.
Xerocon Australia 2027: what we know so far
Here's everything confirmed, which is not much: Xero's rotation brings Xerocon back to Australia in 2027, following Brisbane's turn in September 2025. That's it. No city, no dates, no venue, no ticket pricing.
What we'd bet on, clearly labelled as reading tea leaves: the recent Australian pattern has alternated Sydney (ICC, 2022 and 2023) and Brisbane (2025), both in the August–September window. A 2027 edition in one of those two cities, in that window, is the sensible guess — but Xero has announced none of it.

Frequently asked questions
- What is Xerocon?
- Xerocon is Xero's flagship conference for accountants and bookkeepers — two days of product announcements, education sessions, an app-partner expo and networking. It began in New Zealand in 2010 and now rotates through major cities globally, with recent editions in London, Denver, Brisbane, Sydney, Nashville and Toronto.
- When is the next Xerocon?
- Xerocon Denver runs 19–20 August 2026 at the Colorado Convention Center. It follows Xerocon London, held 8–9 July 2026. After Denver, the rotation returns to Australia in 2027 — dates not yet announced.
- Is there a Xerocon in Australia in 2027?
- Yes — Xero has confirmed Xerocon returns to Australia in 2027 as part of its global rotation, but hasn't announced the city, venue or dates. Recent Australian editions ran in Sydney (2022, 2023) and Brisbane (2025). We'll update this page the day details land.
- How much does Xerocon cost?
- Standard tickets for Xerocon Denver 2026 are US$650, covering both conference days and the closing party. Early-bird windows offered up to 40% off (launch-window tickets were US$390) but closed 31 May 2026. Expect similar tiered pricing — and the same reward for booking early — when Australia 2027 tickets open. Travel and accommodation are on top.
- Is Xerocon worth it for small firms?

- The most recent Xerocon was London, 8–9 July 2026, where Xero announced JAX-powered auto bank reconciliation, Smart Document Capture, the XeroForce agent platform, the Xero Ultra plan tier, Claude and Microsoft 365 Copilot integrations, and a Partner Hub arriving from October — alongside passing 5 million customers.
