Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it in the article, say so in the article, and list it here.

Our policy

  • We fix the article. The wrong fact comes out and the right one goes in.
  • We say so in the article. A note on the piece says what was wrong and the date we corrected it.
  • We list it here. Every correction goes in the log below, newest first.
  • An update is not a correction. When something changes after we publish (a consultation closes, a deadline passes), we add a dated update box to the article instead. Those aren’t listed here; the difference is set out in our editorial standards.

Corrections log

  1. AI writes 10,000 lines of code in an afternoon. We still tell most firms to wait.

    What was wrong
    An earlier version of this article misspelled the name of Dave Sellick’s firm as Siggrove.
    What it says now
    The firm is Sidgrove, and both mentions now say so.
  2. The 30% trust tax draft: what firms need to decide next

    What was wrong
    An earlier version of this article still said in two places that submissions on the exposure draft close on 18 September 2026, after that date had passed and after the update at the top of the article said the consultation had closed.
    What it says now
    Both passages now say the consultation closed on 18 September 2026. Nothing else in the article has changed.

Email hello@thefirm.media or use the contact form. It helps if you include:

  • the link to the article;
  • the sentence that’s wrong;
  • what’s right, and where we can check it (a regulator’s page, a document, a public statement).
