The Firm presents AI in Practice Summit, powered by Vinyl

Wednesday 11 & Thursday 12 November 2026 · Online · Free

AI in Practice: What Worked, What’s Next

Two days with the firms using AI and the people building it — what they shipped this year, what it cost, what it saved, and what they would do differently.

Day one is what firms actually built and used in 2026. Day two is what to plan for in 2027: pricing, hiring, the tools worth your time, and who is responsible when AI gets it wrong. Free to attend, and every session is recorded so you can catch up later.

Read · The first summit

We ran this in June. Every session is still free to watch.

The first AI in Practice Summit ran 17 sessions with 20 speakers — firm owners and bookkeepers alongside the people building the software they run on.

All of it is still online, each session with a written summary, the key points and a full transcript. So you can read one in five minutes or watch the whole thing — no signup, no paywall. November picks up where it left off, with a year of numbers behind it.

Attend · How this one works

Learn from the people actually doing it

Both sides of the room, in one track. Firms show you what they built and what came of it. The tech partners building for the profession show you what they’ve shipped and what’s coming next. Everyone brings the detail — what it cost, what it does, and what it doesn’t do yet.

Firms who have already done it

Accountants and bookkeepers showing what they built or adopted this year, what it cost and the hours it gave back. Measured, not estimated.

The people building the tools

Tech partners showing what they’ve shipped for the profession and what’s coming next — so you can see it working before you plan around it.

And what didn’t work

A whole session on what firms tried and dropped this year, so you don’t have to spend the money finding out yourself.

Watch · The two days

How the two days work

Twelve sessions in total, 10:00am – 4:15pm AEDT, both days. One track, so there is nothing to choose between and nothing to miss — and every session is recorded.

Day 1 · Wednesday 11 November

What worked in 2026

Firms and tech partners showing what they actually shipped this year and what it was worth — what got built, what it cost, and the hours it gave back. Including what got tried and dropped.

Six sessions · a 60-minute keynote, then 45 minutes each

Day 2 · Thursday 12 November

What to plan for in 2027

Where pricing, hiring, tools and responsibility are heading, and what to do about it — finishing with a plan for your first 90 days of the year.

Six sessions · two 60-minute keynotes, 45 minutes each in between

Want to know what the sessions are like?

We’re confirming November’s speakers now, so we would rather show you June’s programme than publish a lineup that might change. All 17 sessions from the first summit are online and free to watch, with a summary and a full transcript on each — that is the standard we are booking to.

See June’s full programme → Register and we’ll email you each November session as it’s confirmed.

Who spoke in June, and on what

20 speakers took part — practitioners running firms, and the people building the software they run on. Here is every one of them and what they covered, which is the best guide we can give you to November. Click any session to watch it, read the summary or search the transcript.

Watch · Speak at it

Want to speak?

We take two kinds of session: a firm showing what it built or adopted and what came of it, and a tech partner showing what they’ve shipped for the profession and where it’s heading. Either way, bring the detail. You don’t need to be a polished speaker — you need to have done the thing.

What we ask every speaker for

  • Day 1: what you built, shipped or started using and when, the hours or dollars it saved (measured, not guessed), one thing that didn’t work, and what you’d do differently.
  • Day 2: one clear call about 2027 you’re happy to make on the record, and what a firm should do in the next 90 days to get ready. Not a list of trends.
  • Either: show the thing working. A live screen share of real work beats a deck about it every time.
  • Format: 45 minutes — about 35 of talking and 10 of questions. Keynotes are 60. Slides are optional; screen shares are very welcome.

Vinyl

The summit is powered by Vinyl

Vinyl is an AI meeting assistant built for accounting and bookkeeping firms. It sits in your client meetings, writes the notes, and turns what was said into actions and advisory work you would otherwise miss. It recorded and transcribed all 17 June sessions, and it is back for November.
