Accountants already do the hard part. Every week, they give advice, explain processes, answer questions and build trust. But most of it is lost the moment the meeting ends.

At the Growth Club Summit, Jordan Vickery (co-founder of The Firm and Vinyl) showed how to capture that value—and turn it into something useful. With a smart prompt and the right model, AI can pull out tasks, content, training material and more, all from the conversations you’re already having.

“There’s so, so much value that firms don’t realise they’re sitting on.”

— Jordan Vickery

The workflow that actually works

Jordan laid out a simple, practical system. Three steps:

• Write a clear prompt

• Add your transcript and run it through AI

• Review the output and refine the prompt

Each step builds on the last. Better prompts mean better results. Better results mean less editing. A feedback loop ensures the process keeps improving.

What makes a great prompt?

Most AI hiccups aren’t about the model. They’re about the instructions.

Jordan shared a six-part formula:

• Persona: who should AI pretend to be?

• Task: what do you want it to do?

• Format: how should the answer look?

• Context: what extra info will help?

• Example: what does “good” look like?

• Constraints: what should it avoid?

This structure removes guesswork and fluff—two things nobody needs more of.

“Without a well-written prompt, you’re essentially letting the AI guess.”

— Jordan Vickery

Tools to save time and do more

To help firms skip the trial-and-error, Jordan shared:

• 13 swipe-ready prompts for everything from SOPs to sentiment analysis

• A free custom GPT that builds your perfect prompt in seconds

• Clear advice on which model suits what (GPT-3.5 for analysis, GPT-4 for writing)

Even better? Every template is tailored for accountants and bookkeepers.

Keep it secure

Jordan also flagged a few must-dos:

• Don’t paste full transcripts if only 10% is relevant—trim first

• Use tools that let you turn off model training

• Set up two-factor authentication

• Update privacy and engagement docs to reflect AI use

Being proactive protects client data and keeps trust intact.
