Overview

Astute Payroll is payroll and workforce management software for recruitment, staffing and labour hire businesses, where timesheets, pay runs and client invoicing all have to reconcile. It has been part of Deel, the global people management platform, since November 2022, and is sold as Astute Payroll by Deel.

The platform manages Single Touch Payroll submissions and SuperStream compliance, calculates PAYG, payroll tax and insurances, and applies configurable rules for awards and enterprise agreements. Timesheets cover multiple jobs, projects, allowances, breaks, leave, shifts and expenses, and invoices are raised from the same data, with credits, refunds, statements and write-offs. Staff use self-service to manage tax, super, timesheets, expenses and leave and to sign compliance documents.

Astute connects to Xero and MYOB by API for payroll and invoicing data, to recruitment systems including Bullhorn, JobAdder, CTC People and Recruit Wizard, and exports flat files for finance systems such as Sage, Dynamics 365 and Oracle; an open API is available for other integrations. It is sold as software run in house or as a managed payroll service, with pricing quoted per business from A$10 per active user per month.
